Rescuing and rehabbing turtles is never easy or inexpensive! We can always use a helping hand to meet the care and financial needs of our rescue organization. We have come up with some unique and cost effective techniques to provide the best quality care these magnificent creatures need. However, care of an injured reptile is a lengthy and expensive process. They do not heal quickly and specialist veterinary care is expensive.
We are 100% donation-funded! We do not receive any money from the state or federal government. We simply could not do what we do without donors, and we are so incredibly grateful to those people who care about turtles and support our mission to save them.
See below for all the multiple ways you can help us help turtles in need. Any little bit helps us and is greatly appreciated!
We also hold fundraisers at various times throughout the year. Check out our Fundraiser page to see the items you can purchase to help us out.

PayPal
There are two ways to donate through PayPal...
OPTION 1 - "Free but slow"
You can donate through the PayPal Giving Fund. The advantage to the PayPal Giving Fund is that PayPal covers ALL fees (which means we get every cent of your donation.) The drawback is that PayPal holds the funds for 15-45 days before releasing it to us.

OPTION 2 - "Fast with fees"
If you'd rather see your donation get to us immediately, use the Donate Button below. Funds are available to us as soon as you complete the transaction. BUT, PayPal will charge its usual 2.9% fee. This means that while we'll get your donation faster, we won't get 100% of it.

Walmart's Registry for Good
The turtles here could sure use a few things. We provide all supplies, food, housing, and medical care for the turtles we take in, and we're always short on supplies. If you'd rather send a gift than make a monetary donation, this Wishlist has several items we could really use. Anything you purchase from this wishlist that is shipped directly to us is tax-deductible. This is similar to the old Amazon Wishlist, but one of the most important items on this Walmart Registry is the Walmart gift card. We can use that gift card to buy our weekly vegetables, fruits, and meats that we feed the turtles. We spend anywhere from $50 to $100 every week just in produce and meat to feed all the turtles here.

Amazon
*Discontinued*
|
**In 2023, Amazon discontinued it's Amazon Smiles program, ending much-needed financial contributions to thousdands of small charities across the world. They also discontinued their "Charity List" wishlist. We had the opportunity to begin a regular wishlist, but decided that if Amazon could no longer support charitable giving, then we will no longer support them. We encourage you to use the Walmart Registry for Good instead. |
Donate Through Your Employer
Many companies match their employees' donations or volunteer hours, doubling the amount the charity receives! Some companies even triple match! Additionally, some companies, like AT&T and others, also allow payroll-deducted contributions. Just set up a monthly amount to contribute through your employer, and it's taken care of for you monthly. This is a fantastic way to support us here at Central MS Turtle Rescue! Check with your employer today!
Charity information: Central MS Turtle Rescue, EIN 81-4766332 |
Many people are hesitant to donate to a non-profit, especially one that is relatively new. We totally get that. In this day of fast scams and disreputable charities, one can never be too careful. One of our biggest expenses is veterinary care. While our amazing veterinarian offers us discounted rates because we are a charity, we still do have to pay his costs. Each x-ray, each medication, each shell repair, and each surgery costs money for him, and therefore us. If you would like to donate directly to the veterinary expenses of the turtles we rescue, this would be incredibly helpful, and would mean as much to us as donating to our Rescue directly. Our veterinarian is:
Hometown Veterinary Hospital
1010 Old Hwy 471
Brandon, MS 39042
*Please send a note with your check to let the staff know the funds are for the account of the Central MS Turtle Rescue.
**It should be noted that donations made directly to the hospital, while very much appreciated, are not tax deductible.
