Educational Presentations

Interested in having a "turtle talk" educational program for your school or event?  These programs can be with or without live turtles, and can cover topics such as: turtle trivia, wildlife rehab, pet turtle care, etc.  We're able to bring our presentation to all types of forums: classrooms, libraries, community events, lectures, conferences, reptile events, nature centers, etc.

Turtle Shell Repair Lab

In 2022, we were invited to present a guest lecture and lab to Mississippi State University's Wildlife Exotic Zoo Avian Aquatic Animal Medicine (WEZAAM) Club. These vet students were interested in learning more about the proper techniques for repairing broken turtle shells. The day was a wonderful success, and the lab caught the attention of the National Veterinary Associates. We have since partnered with NVA to provide these Turtle Shell Repair Labs to several other universities across the southeast. As time and resources allow, we would love to extend this lab to even more schools.

If this is something that you, your club, or your university might be interested in, please contact us via email at: turtlerescuems@gmail.com.

**Please keep in mind that all requests are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.  Additionally, requests during our "busy season" (usually April through June) may be difficult to schedule since we are generally bombarded with new turtles intakes during that time. If at all possible, presentations during any other time of the year are preferred, but we will make every effort to work with your schedule if we're able.
